Privacy Policy — Bayou Pet Health

Bayou Pet Health does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share your personal information or your pet's data. Everything you record stays in the app's private storage on your device.
What the app stores, and where
Bayou Pet Health keeps everything you enter only on your device, in the app's private storage: your pet's profile (name, breed, age, weight, allergies, microchip, emergency contact), journal entries, medications and dose history, vet appointments and vaccination records, exercise, food, water, and weight logs, and the photos and videos you add. We cannot see any of it, and neither can anyone else.
Backups
You can create a backup at any time from Settings. The backup is a single file containing your data and media that you choose where to save or share. It is created only when you ask for it and is never sent to us.
Photos, videos, and voice
Photos and videos you add stay on your device. Voice dictation in the journal uses your device's own speech recognition to turn speech into text while you are writing; no recording is created or transmitted by the app.
Internet use
The app requests internet access for two limited, non-personal reasons: to load its display fonts, and — in a future optional feature — an "ask a question" assistant. Your stored pet data is never uploaded as part of this. If the assistant feature is added, it will be clearly optional and described here before it ships.
What the app does NOT do
- No accounts or sign-in
- No analytics or tracking
- No advertising
- No selling or sharing of your data
- No access to your location or contacts
Permissions the app requests, and why
- Camera & photos — to let you add your pet's photos and videos, and (in a later update) to scan a medication label or vet business card on-device.
- Microphone — for optional voice dictation into journal entries.
- Notifications — to remind you about medications and appointments.
- Biometric — so you can lock the app with your fingerprint or face, in addition to a PIN. This is handled by your device; the app never sees your biometrics.
- Internet — to load fonts and, later, an optional assistant feature, as described above.
Purchases
Bayou Pet Health is free to download. If optional extras are offered in the future, they will be purchased through Google Play, which handles all payment details under its own privacy policy — the app never sees or stores your payment information.

Bayou Pet Health helps you organize your pet's care and is not a substitute for professional veterinary advice. Always consult a veterinarian about your pet's health.
Optional external links
The app may contain optional links — such as "Share App," "Leave a Review," and this policy — that open your web browser or another app. Following them is entirely optional, and those destinations have their own privacy policies.
Data deletion
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of its data. You can also delete individual entries, medications, records, and media from within the app at any time.
Children
The app does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new effective date.
