Privacy Policy — Bayou Scratchpad

Bayou Scratchpad does not collect, store, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Everything you sketch stays on your device.
What the app stores
Your boards and pages — ink strokes, shapes, text, sticky notes, and any photos you add — plus your board styles, colors, tool preferences, and whether you have unlocked Pro. This is saved only on your device, in the app's private storage. It never leaves your phone unless you choose to export or share it yourself. We cannot see it, and neither can anyone else.
What the app does NOT do
- No accounts or sign-in
- No analytics or tracking
- No advertising
- No transmission of your boards to us or anyone else — the app works fully offline once set up
- No access to your location, contacts, or microphone
Handwriting to text
The optional "Convert handwriting to text" feature uses Google's ML Kit Digital Ink Recognition, which runs on your device. The first time you use it, a small language model is downloaded from Google over the internet; after that it works offline. Your handwriting is recognized locally on your device and is not sent to us. The model download is handled by Google under its own privacy policy.
Exporting & sharing
You can export a board to PDF or PNG and share it through your device's standard share sheet (for example to OneNote, email, or a messaging app). That file goes only where you choose to send it. We never receive it.
Photos you add
If you insert a photo onto a board, it is chosen through your device's standard picker and stored inside the app on your device as part of that board. It is not uploaded anywhere.
Purchases
Bayou Scratchpad Pro is an optional one-time purchase processed by Google Play. All payment details are handled by Google under its own privacy policy — the app never sees or stores your payment information. The app only remembers, on your device, whether you own Pro.
Optional external links
Settings contains optional links — such as this policy and our website — that open your web browser. Following them is entirely optional, and those destinations have their own privacy policies.
Data deletion
Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all of its data, including every board. You remain in full control of your content at all times.
Children
The app does not collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this same address with a new effective date.
