Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 21, 2026

Bayou Byte Studio respects your privacy. Journal Spaces is designed as a personal journaling app.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal journal entries for advertising.

Journal content is intended to remain on your device unless you choose to export, share, back up, or otherwise transfer it using features provided by your device or the app.

If the app uses device permissions such as microphone, storage, or biometric authentication, those permissions are used only to provide the related app functionality.

App Lock, PIN & Biometrics

Journal Spaces can lock your journal behind a PIN code and, if you choose, your phone's fingerprint or face unlock. We do not collect, store, or transmit any of it:

  • Your PIN code stays on your device. It is stored only as a one-way cryptographic hash — never as the PIN itself — and it is deliberately excluded from backup files.
  • Your fingerprint and face data never reach the app at all. Matching happens inside your phone's secure hardware, and Android tells Journal Spaces only "yes" or "no." There is nothing for us to collect.
