Frequently asked questions

The things people actually ask us. If yours isn't here, write in — a real person answers.

Who is behind Bayou Byte Studio?

A small independent studio built on decades of career systems-engineering experience, making calm, private mobile apps with real care. Read the whole story on the About page.

Are your apps free?

Yes — every app is free to download and genuinely useful without paying anything. Some apps offer optional one-time purchases (extra theme packs, voices, or scenes). No subscriptions, ever.

How do payments work?

All in-app purchases are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We never see, handle, or store your card details — Google handles the whole transaction. Separately, we keep a voluntary tip jar on Buy Me a Coffee for folks who want to support future development; tips are gifts, not purchases.

What's your refund policy?

In-app purchases follow Google Play's refund policy, and Google processes those directly. If something went wrong and Play's window has passed, email support@bayoubytestudio.com and we'll do right by you — an unhappy customer isn't worth $3.99 to anybody.

What do you do with my data?

Nothing — because we don't have it. Our apps work offline with no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no tracking. Journals, medication schedules, and water logs stay on your device. Each app has its own short privacy policy: Journal Spaces, Pill Reminder, Water Break.

What devices do you support?

Android today, via Google Play. iOS versions are on the wish list once the Android family is settled in.

Why is everything bayou-themed?

Because it's the feeling we're trying to bottle — cypress trees, porch lanterns, fireflies, slow evenings. It also keeps us honest: software should feel like a slow evening, not a slot machine.

How fast do you answer support email?

Usually within one to two business days. It's a small studio, so you're talking directly to the folks who build the apps — which tends to make fixes faster, not slower.

Can I request a feature?

Please do — several shipped features started as user emails. Send ideas to hello@bayoubytestudio.com. We can't build everything, but we read everything.
